SAS Scandinavian Airlines overview
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) was founded in 1946 as a joint venture of the Danish, Norwegian and Swedish national airlines. After restructuring, it left Star Alliance and joined SkyTeam in September 2024, when Air France-KLM took a minority stake. Air France-KLM has since announced plans to raise its holding to a majority, subject to regulatory approval.
SAS operates from three Scandinavian hubs and sells three cabins: SAS Go (economy), SAS Plus (premium economy) and SAS Business on long-haul flights. Its network covers more than 140 international destinations, including Europe, North America and Asia.
