Garuda Indonesia overview
Garuda Indonesia began operating in 1949 and is the national flag carrier of Indonesia. The Indonesian government, through the sovereign investment agency Danantara, holds a majority stake, and the group also owns low-cost subsidiary Citilink. Garuda has been a SkyTeam member since 2014 and operates a fleet of roughly 80 aircraft, including Boeing 777-300ERs, Airbus A330s and Boeing 737s.
Its main hub is Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta, with secondary hubs at Denpasar (Bali) and Makassar. Internationally, Garuda flies to Amsterdam in Europe, to Jeddah and Medina in Saudi Arabia (important for Umrah and Hajj travel), and to destinations in Japan, China, South Korea, Southeast Asia and Australia.
