Air Europa overview
Air Europa was founded in 1986 and is owned by the Spanish travel group Globalia. It has been a SkyTeam member since 2007. After IAG abandoned a takeover in 2024, Turkish Airlines agreed in 2026 to acquire a minority stake, which Spanish authorities have approved.
The airline operates Boeing 787 Dreamliners on long-haul routes and Boeing 737s in Europe, with Business and Economy cabins, and has ordered Airbus A350s. From Madrid it flies to Spanish and European cities and to many destinations in South America, Central America and the Caribbean, as well as New York and Miami.
