EVA Air was founded in 1989 as part of Taiwan's Evergreen Group and began flying in 1991. It joined Star Alliance in June 2013 and operates a widebody-focused fleet of roughly 85–90 aircraft, including Boeing 777-300ERs and 787s, alongside Airbus narrowbodies for regional flights.
