Starlux Airlines was founded in May 2018 by Chang Kuo-wei, a former chairman of EVA Air, and began flying in January 2020. It has stated its intention to join oneworld but, as of 2026, is not a member of any global alliance. Its all-Airbus fleet of roughly 30 or more aircraft includes A321neos, A330-900s, A350-900s and A350-1000s.
From its hub at Taipei Taoyuan, Starlux serves destinations in Japan, Southeast Asia and other parts of Asia, and has built a North American network that includes Los Angeles, San Francisco, Ontario (California), Seattle and Phoenix. In Europe it flies to Prague. First class is offered only on its A350 aircraft.
