Viva Aerobus, now branded simply Viva, is a Mexican ultra-low-cost airline based in Monterrey that flies an all-Airbus fleet across Mexico and to the US.
Viva Aerobus overview
Viva Aerobus was founded in 2006 and has been wholly owned by Mexico's IAMSA group since Irelandia Aviation sold its stake in 2016. In October 2024 the airline rebranded as Viva. In December 2025 it agreed to combine with Volaris under a new holding company, with both brands expected to continue; the deal was still awaiting Mexican approval in September 2026.
Viva flies an all-Airbus A320-family fleet of more than 100 aircraft. Its main hub is Monterrey, with bases including Mexico City (both Benito Juarez and Felipe Angeles), Cancun, Guadalajara, Tijuana, Merida and Los Cabos. It has partnerships including an interline with Air Canada and a codeshare with Iberia.
