Oman Air overview
Oman Air traces its roots to Oman International Services, set up in 1970. It began flying as Oman Air in March 1993 and moved into long-haul flying in 2007. The airline is government-owned through the Oman Investment Authority and went through a restructuring from 2023 to 2025. It joined oneworld as a full member on 30 June 2025.
Its fleet of roughly 30 aircraft is made up of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and Boeing 737 and 737 MAX jets, and Boeing 787-10s are on order. In 2024 the airline dropped first class and introduced a 'Business Studio' premium product on its 787s. From Muscat it flies to the Gulf and wider Middle East, Europe and Asia, and it has an especially large network in India.
