Pegasus Airlines overview
Pegasus Airlines began as a charter airline, set up by Turkish partners with Aer Lingus, and started flying in April 1990. It moved to a low-cost model in 2005 under ESAS Holding and is listed on Borsa Istanbul. In December 2025 Pegasus announced an agreement to buy the Czech Smartwings group, including Czech Airlines.
The airline flies a single-class fleet of about 130 aircraft, mostly Airbus A320neos and A321neos with some Boeing 737-800s, and has a large order book. Its main base is Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen, with further bases in Ankara, Antalya, Izmir and other Turkish cities. It serves more than 150 destinations across Turkey, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.
