Norwegian overview
Norwegian Air Shuttle was founded in 1993 and began operating scheduled jet services under the Norwegian brand in 2002. It is headquartered at Fornebu near Oslo. After ending its long-haul operations in January 2021, it now flies only short-haul routes. In 2024 it acquired the regional airline Widerøe.
Norwegian operates a fleet of Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with around 100 aircraft across its Norwegian and Swedish operating companies. It serves more than 100 destinations across Scandinavia, Finland, the Baltics and Europe, and is not part of an alliance.
