JetSMART overview
JetSMART was founded in 2016 and began flying in July 2017 from Santiago, Chile. It is controlled by US investment firm Indigo Partners, and American Airlines took a minority stake in 2021 alongside a codeshare and loyalty partnership. The group includes JetSMART Argentina, JetSMART Peru and JetSMART Colombia.
The group flies an all-Airbus A320-family fleet of about 50 aircraft or more, including A320neo and A321neo jets, with dozens more on order. Its network covers domestic flights in Chile, Argentina, Peru and Colombia and international routes within South America, including Brazil and Paraguay.
