Edelweiss Air was founded in 1995 and is based at Zurich Airport. It is a subsidiary of Swiss International Air Lines and part of Lufthansa Group, but is not itself a Star Alliance member.
The airline operates Airbus A320s on European routes and is replacing its A340s with Airbus A350-900s for long-haul flights. Current cabins are Economy and Business, and a new A350 cabin with Premium Economy is due to enter service from December 2026. From Zurich it serves around 100 leisure destinations in Europe, North America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia.
