Air Serbia overview
Air Serbia traces its history to Aeroput, founded in 1927, which was followed after the Second World War by JAT (later Jat Airways). The airline took the Air Serbia name in 2013, when Etihad Airways bought a 49% stake. The Serbian government regained full ownership in 2023.
The fleet mixes Airbus A319/A320 and Embraer 195 jets and ATR 72 turboprops, plus a small long-haul fleet of Airbus A330-200s. From its Belgrade hub the airline serves a large European and Mediterranean network. Its long-haul flights go to New York JFK and Chicago, to Toronto (launched in 2026), and to Guangzhou and Shanghai in China. The airline is not a member of a global alliance.
